For those of you who don’t know, Christian Siriano is a
fashion designer who was started after winning season 4 of Project Runway. (Fun
Fact: he has been the series’ youngest winner.) Christian Siriano is known for
his feminine and sophisticated aesthetic. Through all of he collections, he has
maintained expert status with intricate detailing and gorgeous styling.
This season, Mr. Siriano’s collection referenced the inside
of Saint Petersburg’s Mariinsky Theatre in Russia.
He showed this inspiration through the gold accents pieces,
black velvet and rich brocades that were the true structure of this collection.
Normally, Christian Siriano stays in his comfort area, in formal wear, but he expanded this collection into more sportswear as well. This, I think, is a very smart move for him as his clothes will now be more wearable to the buyer who has the money to afford his clothes but no place to wear his more formal outfits.
Overall, this was an excellent show, with flawless styling,
clothing and details. I loved attending, and I hope I will be invited next year
to cover it as well!
